3. What qualifications do I need to attend the FLOW development days this summer?

Anyone can attend, even if you don't get a formal job with the FLOW Internship! That's right, even if you pick up your old Tim Horton's job, or you work at the local grocery store, we want to develop you!

The only criteria you must meet is:

  • You must be between 18 years (by May 1, 2017) and 25 years old.
  • You must be a high school graduate (as of May 1, 2017).
  • Register in advance of each session using the online registration form.
  • Willing to pay the $20/session registration fee. (note: those working in BIC Church or ministry get in for free.)

4. What is the selection process like?  When will I know if I get a job for the summer?

  • Once we receive your application, we will work to find you best-fit opportunities with churches and organizations who are looking for summer interns.
  • There is no guarantee that a role will be found for you, but as soon as potential opportunities come up, you will be notified by the church or organization who is wanting to invite you into their interview process.
    • It's important that you keep looking for other jobs, even after you apply for the FLOW Internship!
  • The good news is, even if you don’t get an official role as an intern and need to find another job, you are invited to attend the FLOW Development Days all summer long. (block the dates off now!)
  • Track along online (particularly the Facebook Page) to get the latest updates.

4. How can I make my application stronger?

There are often more people looking for summer internships, than actual spots available.

Use these tips to improve your chances:

  • Maintain confidence as you interview.

5. How much will I get paid?

This is entirely determined by the church or organization who hires you, but likely slightly higher than minimum wage.

6.  How do I apply?

  • Check out the questions we’ll be asking on the application here first. The application will take a bit of time to complete.
  • Applications are due anytime until April 30, but the sooner you get your application in, the stronger your chances of being considered for prospective jobs. Most jobs are posted and taken by May 1.
  • In addition to submitting a complete online application, you must submit a one-minute video introducing yourself and telling us why you want to be a FLOW Intern next summer. Be as creative as you want.
